Hi again. Today i want to continue about online MMORPG. Second important game in the MMORPG genre was game – “The Realm Online”. “RO” was developed by Sierra Online and released few months, after “Meridian 59” (read my previous post about “M59”). “RO” was first game with animated 2D graphics and awesome 2D combat, it was something very cool back then, you can check official website right here. You probably know, “Ultima Online”, released in 1997 – this awesome game is still available to play. If you want to take a look, go here

The success of “Ultima Online” opened the door for the creation of many new massively multiplayer games. It has now probably around 60.000 – 70.000 subscribers. After 12 years!! “Ultima Online” was the first MMORPG to reach the 100,000 subscriber base.
Another great online MMORPG was “EverQuest”, it released on 16 March 1999. The original design of first “EverQuest” is credited to few guys: Brad McQuaid, Steve Clover, and Bill Trost.
Great and fantastic 3D world, awesome classes and adventures, mighty magic items and powerful mobs everything was awesome. Game was total hit and after few years, Sony released, second part of awesome online MMORPG.
