Well, you probably heard about “World of Warcraft”? World of Warcraft, often referred to as WoW, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Blizzard Entertainment.
Today is still dominant online MMORPG in the genre. The game was released on November 23, 2004, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise. Game has 2 expansion, first is called “The Burning Crusade” (was released on January 16, 2007) and second, “Wrath of the Lich King” (released on November 13, 2008). Game has over 11 millions of players all over the world. Why is so popular? It’s really hard to tell, in my opinion is little bit boring, especially on higher levels. Some people also think that WoW is “Childish and looking like some kinda cartoon game” or “it’s all about farming gold, all about power leveling and all about stupid grind all the time” or “highly addivtive SH*T!!!. In other hand, game is nice – gameplay, almost everything it’s clear and simple for everyone…maybe to simple?

Another thing is paying for subscription around 15 $ per month. Well, personally I’m not so interested so much in WoW to pay that kind of many 15 $ x 12 = 170 $ per year.

Maple Story
Of course there are also game, designed to play online for free, like “Maple Story”. This game created few years ago, is also top online MMORPG, but has …..over 50 millions of players worldwide! Maple Story is a free, 2D side-scrolling massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by the South Korean company Wizet. Although playing the game is free, character appearances and gameplay enhancements can be purchased from the “Cash Shop” using real money Game is full of colors and has many interesting enemies to fight, you can visit many interesting location and you don’t need to pay for play. Someone said that free online MMORPGs are future of gaming…We shall see in the future ;)
